Moving Into a New Home
This was done for a client who asked me to conceptualize, project-manage, and organize her entire move to a new townhome. What’s interesting about this space, is that the client thought the room should be configured based on the way the previous owners had it. I looked at it with entirely fresh eyes and made the space far more open.
Client Testimonial: “While these visuals are certainly dramatic and demonstrate the complete transformation of my home, what they cannot convey is how emotionally difficult and stressful this move could have been. My mom died several years ago and this was my first move without her wisdom and organizational talents. I was bereft by the prospect of doing this move without her. Enter Taneen whose compassion and commitment to
creating a space that both reflected my personality and seamlessly merged my mother’s things with mine, was nothing short of miraculous. The emotional upheaval I anticipated never came to pass because Taneen was a true partner, supporter, and implementer. Her enthusiasm was infectious and she made moving — the worst experience imaginable — actually pleasant and fun. Hiring her was the best decision I’ve made, possibly in my entire life.” — R.G.
Merging Possessions
A client hired me to tackle her house — every room, in fact — after her mother’s death. She was struggling with how to seamlessly integrate her mom’s items with her own. She was overwhelmed while navigating deep grief, and the project involved reimagining spaces and creating new systems to effectively honor her mother.
The Projects That Started It All
I revamped my parents' basement to highlight my mom's love of Christmas and all things seasonal. This project actually kicked off the 'House to Home TLC' vision and was a precursor to the attic done shortly after.
